During our lives, most of us pass from one experience to the next, without ever taking the time to analyze and reflect on the experience just ended.
This way of doing can give us the illusion of being energetic and active, but it is the best way to not learn from one’s mistakes, repeat them and nourish the dissatisfaction of every experience made which, then, makes us throw into a new experience.
This vicious circle gives us perennial dissatisfaction and prevents us from personal growth.
No one, not even our parents, teaches us that the practice of stopping at every experience, reflecting on what we have experienced, is the only way to make our wisdom grow and, consequently, ensure that personal growth is stabilized in us permanently.
Make sure you reflect regularly on your OKR.
Let’s find out why.
The power of a pause for reflection
There are many different ways to grow and an infinite number of lessons to learn in life.
But there are some types of growth that come to us only if we are willing to stop, pause and let us learn a lesson from what has been done up to that point.
We discover four reasons why reflection has a lot of power in personal growth.
Reflection transforms the experience into vision
Experience is not the best teacher if it is not evaluated and meditated!
This is true, but only if the person has time to reflect after the experience he has had, otherwise, he will do only the exam first and never the lesson.
People have countless experiences every day and many learn nothing from them, because they never take the time to stop and think.
This is why it is so important to stop and reflect and let the understanding of what has been experienced reach us.
In this way, it will help us to have a more conscious vision of the future.
Everyone needs a time and a place to stop
Stopping to reflect is one of the most valuable activities a person can do to grow.
Reflection has much more value than good motivation or strong courage and allows you to make sure that you are on the right track to achieve OKRS.
If you stop to allow growth to reach you, you will make your life better, because not only do you better understand the meaning of what you have experienced, but you can implement the right changes and corrections.
Furthermore, you will also be better equipped OKR Software to better reflect to your goal.
Intentional reflection expands and enriches thought
We are often so action-oriented and we have so many responsibilities that we are often guilty of moving all the time, neglecting to stop and take time to think.
Yet this is one of the most important things we can do.
I strongly encourage you to find a place to think and pause, because this action has the potential to change your life. It can help you understand what’s really important and what isn’t.
When you take your time to stop, use the 4 I’s
Investigation – ask questions, dig into the situation, and find out exactly what happened, both good and bad.
Incubation – incubate what you have discovered, think about it and see what you can learn.
Ignition – after studying and incubating an idea or an experience, you need to take advantage of the lighting and ideas that come to you to understand the points to be improved.
Illustration – your ideas born from enlightenment are just basic skeletons. Start thinking about an action plan to implement what you have learned.
Good questions are the heart of reflection
Successful people ask themselves the best questions and, consequently, get the best answers.
If your questions are honest, they will lead you to solid convictions. If you ask quality questions, they will help you create a high quality life.
What you want to achieve in life and where you are now on your way will determine which areas you need to think about today, adapting the questions above to yourself and your current situation.
But the most important thing you need to do is give answers to these questions.
Why? Because you will discover that, what you think after writing the answer is different from what you thought before writing it. Writing helps, you discover what you really know, think and believe.
All of this probably sounds like lots of steps to take and a lot of problems to solve. It’s true! But this is why most people never do it.
In reality, stopping and reflecting is all the more crucial the more one goes in the path of personal growth.
Never forget that your goal in personal growth is to reach your maximum potential. To do this, it is necessary to periodically stop, ask questions and continue to grow every day.
